Blanca Stella Mejia is a digital marketing consultant with over nine years of experience in digital and social media strategy. She recently worked for IBM as part of the Global social team at IBM z Systems where she developed thought leadership and influencer marketing to reach targeted cohorts, optimized social processes for portfolio marketing team’s digital campaigns and enabled the Geos with social content plans.
She also supported key IBM events for increased engagement and brand awareness and provided strategic recommendations from insights and metrics. She was also the first social media strategist at IBM, outside of an agency, to launch a social media program and SME enablement in Latin America
Prior to this, she was a social media community manager for Microsoft Research where she managed a social network platform created by Microsoft FUSE Labs. She also co-founded a digital and web development agency in Miami where she helped small businesses use the web to drive online visibility and generate leads with paid media, SEO, email, blogging, social media and other integrated digital marketing strategies. This also included project management for website development in WordPress.
Considered a top influential Latina in the Hispanic market, she has a network of hundreds of bloggers and influencers where she communicates on a daily basis. These relationships have been developed deeply for almost a decade many of them in real life by participating at blogger, digital and social media conferences.
Besides being passionate about connecting through Social Media, Blanca was named by Latina Magazine as one of the top 25 Women Who Shine In Technology and participated in a first ever Latina blogger trip to the White House with 70 colleagues. She is very involved in the local grassroots Social Media community in South Florida and has been invited to speak about Digital Marketing, Social Media, Blogging, Reputation Management, WordPress, SEO and Local Search at various events.
